As you know, every organization needs productive and motivated employees to succeed. So what keeps people engaged? What keeps them working their hearts out for you? Believe it or not, the number one reason U.S. employees leave their jobs is dissatisfaction with pay. Certainly there are plenty of other factors — including workplace culture, unforeseen family events and healthcare benefits — but 56% of respondents to a Society for Human Resource Management poll named compensation dissatisfaction as the driving factor that would lead them to quit or change jobs/careers. Be thoughtful about compensation. It’s not everything to an employee. But it certainly can have an impact on longevity.
